Shanghai is in the east of China. Many years ago, it was a small fishing village. Only a few thousand people lived there. People were fishermen. But today Shanghai is a big modern city. It is the bi甫顶颠雇郯概奠谁订京ggest city in China. And it is also one of the largest cities in the world. It has an area of about six thousand, three hundred and forty square kilometers. More than thirteen million people live there. They do many different jobs. There are workers, doctors, nurses, teachers, engineers, artists and so on. Shanghai is also more beautiful than before. There are now many tall buildings and green areas. Shanghai is developing very fast. People there are living a happy life.
