写英语作文 中国与外国都有很多传统节日,请向你的笔友paul写封信,不仅要向对方介绍中国的传统节日
Dear Paul,
I am glad to know that you are interested in Chinese festival, so I am writing to introduce The Dragon Boat Festival to you.
The Dragon Boat Festival, an annual traditional Chinese festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month according to the Chinese calendar. It dates from over 2000 years ago, which falls on June 8th this year. On this day, Chinese people prepare Zongzi, glutinous rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves. As the festival name shows, people have dragon boat races to celebrate it, especially in the southern places where there are many rivers and lakes. The Dragon Boat Festival is for Qu Yuan, a great poet of ancient China. Finally,I will appreciate that if you can introduce some tradition festivals in your country.
Yours,Li hua

提倡人们重视传统节日的英语作文
Nowadays, some western holidays like Christmas Eve and Valentine’s Day have become so popular with Chinese people that they have been a part of some people’s life. On the contrary, some traditional Chinese festivals gradually are ignored by more and more people, especially young people. However, to our delight, some social groups have appealed to common people for more attention to our own national culture.
Although a few people once advocated that traditional festivals like the Spring Festival should be discarded because they have become obstacles to social progress. It can not be accepted and supported by the majority of Chinese people in reality. Indeed, the old way of spending festivals produces several disadvantages such as money wasting and transportation overloading. But we cannot disregard its other side: traditional festivals play an active role in our life. Traditional festivals not only bring joy but also bring the family together, which is so priceless in modern society.
What we should do is to preserve the positive things and make them flourish in the modern world. As for the negative aspects of it, we should not hesitate to abandon them and prevent them from affecting and troubling us and the next generation.
Due to the heavy influence of western cultures, more and more modern Chinese people prefer western holidays to traditional ones. When Christmas or Valentine Day comes, youngsters flood into bars, restaurants, and department stores to celebrate these festivals which their ancestors know little about. The reason behind this social phenomenon is obvious: in a society dominated by mass media and consumerism, festivals and holidays from abroad are labeled as “fashionable and new”, while traditional ones as something “out of date or old”. Young people all over the world have regarded western life style depicted in Hollywood films as their ultimate goal of life. Therefore it’s no wonder that Chinese young people love Christmas much more than Spring Festival. The influence of such a social phenomenon should be carefully studied. In my opinion, the wide spread and recognition of western holidays will definitely harm our traditional value. If we don’t take some measure, in years to come, Chinese cultural heritage may be alien to our offspring. It’s high time that the government took some action.
