Why should we care? Because we need animals, and because once they are gone, they will never return. Animals are more than just beautiful or interesting; they are more than just a source of food. Every animal has a role in the delicate balance of nature. Destroying one species can lead to numerous problems. For example, when farmers killed large numbers of hawks, their stores of corn and grain were destroyed by rats and mice. Why? Because hawks feed on rats and mice, without them, the rodents multiplied rapidly.
Luckily, some people are working to help save the animals. Some groups raise funds to raise awareness about the issue, and they try to get the government to pass laws protecting endangered animals. Several countries have passed laws that ban the killing of any species on the endangered list. Slowly, the number of some endangered species is recovering.

Today, on our autumn outing, we lined up neatly and set off happily. We drove quickly to the place we had long desired, guess where we went?
We went to the zoo, where we saw fierce lions, lovely squirrels, beautiful parrots, and many other animals. The most interesting ones were the mischievous monkeys! They were lively and adorable, some balancing on banana peels as hats, some sitting on the rocks while eating apples, while others watched the beautiful autumn scenery, and some with long, thin tails hanging from branches, and some standing curiously looking at us, and so on. My Dog
