My hometown

My hometown is a small village of southern xx province.There were many trees here when I was young,and a riverlet with clear water flowed over the southern part of the village,attracting many children catching fish.People in the village started to work when the sun rose,and rested when it was dark.

However,in recent years,a express highway was built in the north,which took up massive farmland.With the logging of the trees and the building of small factories along the riverlet,the amount of fish was decreasing,water was getting dark,and even the air in the village was getting smelt.What's worse is that some people caught queer diease. Having driven private cars and moven into bigger house s,the villagers were getting richer and richer,they didn't live a happy life,however.

Now the trees are re-planted ,and through consultation,the factories have taken some effective measure for enviromental protection,thus improving the overall environment of the village.Everything here is moving forward in a positive way,which makes us have the belief that tomorrow will be a better day.

My home town is a beautiful place. It stands beside a wide river and is rich in fish and rice.

But in the old days it was a poor and backward little town. Many people had no work. They lived a hard life.

In 1949 my hometown was liberated. Since then great changes have taken place there. The streets have been widened. Factories, schools, hospitals, cinemas and theatres have sprung up one after another. The life of the people is greatly improved.

I love my hometown. All the more I love its people. They are working hard so as to make it still richer and more beautiful.
